A complex control of rovers is frustrating and distractive for the operator and can impact the efficiency and outcome of a task negatively. The experiment HUMANISE by the Lunar Zebro team of the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands therefore addresses the design, user experience, and usability of rover controllers. This is to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of Martian exploration. The experiment is intended to better meet the operator's needs. To accomplish this, analog astronauts will test three different controller systems for the rovers. In order to be able to compare the different controllers, the analog astronauts will strive to select similar environment sand tasks. The analog astronauts will then report their experiences both quantitatively through questionnaires and qualitatively in interviews.
